#Periscope/ #ThinkingBack
I just got finished with a periscope broadcast where there was a Bambi or two in my backyard with my dog Pink. I got to thinking about 22 years ago back in those high school days where the world was innocent and we add no care in the world where we didn’t have to worry about terrorism on our own soil or anywhere near us because this was before September 11, 2001 it was around the time that the World Trade Center in New York City was attacked on February 26, 1993, but at that time I was naΓ―ve enough to not be “concerned or disturbed” and I was not as educated as I am now. And I’m reading from Google/Wikipedia right now “the 1993 World Trade Center bombing was the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, carried out on February 26, 1993, when a truck bomb was detonated below the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York City”. OK not that I want to give credit or mention to the attackers the mass murdered six people with a car bomb but I think that I’m going to mention names just so if I ever have a rant that it will make more sense. Ramzi Yousef & Eyad Ismoil where the perpetrators in this attack which took place at 9:18 AM. And I remember talking to a friend who said that his brother Who worked in one world trade, was running 10 minutes late for work so he was not killed in this attack but unfortunately he was a victim of the September 11, 2001 attack where he had just sat down with a cuppa coffee at his desk on the 98th floor of tower one. So unfortunately I don’t think that America will ever be missed name happy go lucky country that we were before the attacks in 1993. I click continue on about the domestic terrorist bomb attack on the Alfred P Murrah Federal building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995 where Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols decided to throw a truck bomb together and murdered 168 people and injuring more than 680 people. Anyway this was supposed to be about my days in high school when I was lucky enough to go to school with Eugene Byrd, Yes the same Eugene Byrd from Bones & Arrow. Anyway I remember when he was The director in a play I was in floor my Spanish class and it didn’t really matter that I was not perfect and acting because as a director even 20 some years ago he had enough professionalism to make me look good. But I will say as a broadcaster, blogger and social media fanatic as I am it is fun too and see how everybody is doing on a day to day basis and see how everybody is doing. I do not watch the broadcast news I only watch documentaries and maybe some kind a movie or something but I decided to swear off broadcast news because I’d rather see it live unedited and raw for it even has a chance to hit the production studio because then you never know who’s angle we’re going to get. Another thing i talked about this morning on periscope was back when I met Country music superstar Eric Church. It was back in August 2008, I was down in the Caribbean on a vacation, I was watching/listening to my local radio station and I did not know there was a contest happening so randomly I decided to play along and I actually did know that I won anything until I got a voicemail from the station. Strangely enough I was going home just in time for this event to happen because in the next few days I would be having a party in my backyard. At the time I had no idea who Eric Church was and I didn’t quite know any of his music anything about him nothing so it was definitely an interesting experience where I got to meet up-and-coming superstar. It was his first time in Philadelphia his first time playing a show in Philadelphia and it just so happen to be in my backyard where the audience was 3% Dachshund. It’s funny that I’m writing this on Father’s Day 2016, because this is The eighth Father’s Day without my father who passed away March 23, 2008 from lung cancer. But Eric played a very cool song a very poignant song called “those I’ve loved”. That song really really hits home for me. So when he played it in Philadelphia on October 18, 2014 at The Wells Fargo Center I really was floored because he told the story of being in my backyard and playing to an audience that was 3% Dachshund. So just him mentioning the event made me smile because I did not know if celebrities remember that kind of thing. When The rest of the arena figured out that it was me that he was talking about and somehow figured out my Twitter handle: #ChiefX340 -Now I have my own website: http://www.chiefxpressdog.net Mike Twitter blew up for a good 48 hours people I know wanting to know or just “being in amazement”. It was definitely a wild ride first 48 hours definitely an interesting time in my life. And I look back on it eight years later having just lost my father in March 2008 this event kind of snapped us out of the trance of shock and being angry and upset. Over those eight years I’ve come to grips with the loss of my father and I definitely know he is up there in heaven watching down and keeping an eye on my crazy ass. I may not be the brightest crayon in the box but I’m definitely interesting and unpredictable, if you are a long time reader of my documentation in life on whatever else I may be writing about you know that my subject range waffles back and fourth nobody knows what I’m going to write up next. I will probably wait another interesting blog later on today because I will probably be bored since there is no Sprint cup racing today it is the week off and are 43 drivers have scattered across The globe on vacations, Amy and Dale Earnhardt Jr are back in Germany, the last time they went to Germany one year ago they came back engaged-I’m not going to say that this is what they are doing this time-getting married-but we don’t know. Amy Earnhardt definitely sounds pretty good-and she is one lucky lady and many female NASCAR fans are definitely jealous. On the other side of things it is kind of nice not to have to deal with the drivers I don’t like this week I don’t have to see their ugly mugs and listen to their obnoxious commentary about whatever. So what do I plan to do today, just keep an eye on the news keep an eye on the dog keep an eye on the television just because and if I could I would definitely go out and explore my surroundings more because it is a beautiful weekend and I just have the energy to get up and go but do I have the motivation to get up and go no I don’t unfortunately. I definitely have the inspiration in my head and the dog is commenting on what I’m saying. Probably be sharing some articles I find on Tumblr or on Pinterest and on Twitter what ever I will definitely share today so on that note I will say adios my friends and God bless.
