Hello and welcome to my new blog! I’m writing to you from my apartment, and today, Iβm diving into some uncomfortable but important topics: tax, hostility, and public outrage. I recently joined the Substack community, specifically Rosie O’Donnell’s newsletter, seeking a platform outside of the Meta ecosystem to express my thoughts more freely. I want to engage with her insights and lifestyle choices, including her decision to leave the United States. Thatβs her prerogative, and I respect it.
While I don’t often take part in discussions within the Substack community, I share my views when I feel strongly about something. It’s clear that some people take issue with my opinions, but honestly, that’s on themβnot me. I refuse to let strangers dictate how I should feel about the current administration or stir unnecessary hostility.
I understand the dissatisfaction surrounding the election and also recognize the enthusiasm from others regarding the outcome. I navigate a balanced space between disappointment and optimism. Itβs vital to approach governance with a business-like mentality for a country to thrive, and I believe we currently have leadership that aims to do just that by addressing fundamental issues.
This morning, I encountered some confrontational individuals regarding differing opinions. Iβm not one to wave political flags; I consider myself an independent thinker and voter. It shouldn’t matter where I stand politicallyβeveryone has the right to like or dislike whoever they please. I didnβt support the previous administration, nor do I fully align with the current one. My views on political matters are nuanced, and thatβs perfectly valid.
I haven’t posted anything politically charged in a while because I’ve been focusing on other interests, which is completely fine. While I appreciate open communication, I won’t tolerate ridicule for my opinions. I’ve been keeping this digital diary for 10 years, and my passion for writing and storytelling feels almost like a notion from a past life. I’m fascinated by a variety of subjects, and Iβm always eager to learn more about them.
Admittedly, I can be opinionated and assertive, which I see as a strength. If that ruffles some feathers, I donβt apologize for expressing my voice or making my opinions heard. I look forward to creating more content covering a range of topics, including political matters. Stay tuned!
