Bunches Of Hugs is a discontinued lightweight medium yarn, and it recommends a size 10 knitting needle. Given my tendency to stray from recommended needle sizes, itโs an interesting choice for me. As a notoriously loose knitter and a meticulous crochet artist, my encounters with crochet tend to be rare and simple, often limited to finishing knitted projects. My focus today is on this particular yarn because, back in the day, Red Heart yarn was truly at the top of its game. Itโs the first yarn I ever fell in love with, whether it was cotton, acrylic, or blendsโI cherished them all. Even though my fondness has waned, I still hold on to a few skeins in my stash for various reasons.
With my eczema and allergies to wool, Iโve become discerning about the yarns I choose. I find myself reaching for acrylic and cotton yarns from other brands, and while my recent projects mostly consist of potholders and coasters, I am eagerly anticipating a return to making small blankets or scarves. It feels like my crafting world is evolving!
Currently, my yarn collection is thrivingโlike Iโve mentioned in earlier posts, I probably have enough to last me through 2025, if not into 2026! While my stash may be modest compared to small businesses that sell their crafts, Iโm excited about gifting my creations when inspiration strikes. If someone is willing to pay for shipping, Iโm open to it but always calculate shipping costs alongside the yarn price.
Back to the yarn Iโm using now: while it may not be the highest quality, it carries a nostalgic weight for me. The color theory and coordination in Red Heart yarn amaze me, regardless of the series, which is why I hold on to some of it. As I work on my current 87-stitch project, I find joy in the processโeven though the material feels a bit rough, my eczema isnโt bothered, which is promising for my continued crafting.
I also wrote a note this morning that helped me process some feelings about a current situation. Whether or not I choose to share those thoughts publicly is still up for debate, especially since I tend to keep my feelings about othersโ situations private. However, Iโm committed to standing by my friends when times get tough. Thereโs definitely some โbad bloodโ brewing with a certain individual Iโve heard about. Even though I donโt know them personally, I can already tell I want to steer clear.
I’ve penned heartfelt reflections on past relationships, but I typically only address othersโ situations when I see a connection to my life. That said, I look forward to sharing more about this journey and keeping you updated on my day, including watching YouTube videos and chatting with friends. Iโm also considering going live on a channel soon, but thatโs still in the works.
As I reflect on these thoughts, I know Iโll be following up this post, whether it be about yarn, relationships, or community topics. Plus, Iโm excited to write about the intricacies of house painting, as that presents a whole new adventure! Stay tuned; thereโs much to anticipate!
