Hello! I’d love to share a bit about my travel mug collection and some thoughts on my at-home collection. I’ve got quite a few travel mugs, and recently I decided it was time to rearrange and organize them because the number had become overwhelming. I’ve chosen to donate some and keep others that greatly benefit me. Initially, I thought I would get rid of all my plastic mugs and stick with metal, but then I realized that some of my favorites are BPA-free plastic. It’s interesting how our preferences evolve.

Part of me is tempted to go all-in on stainless steel for travel mugs, yet I know that not all mugs are created equal, and some hold sentimental value. My coffee cup collection also brings me joy, especially the last one I bought from eBay as a special reminder of Beverly Hills 90210.

I’ve committed to stop chasing after tumblers and coffee mugs that don’t truly resonate with me. Spending money on items that seem appealing initially but don’t consistently deliver on that promise is exhausting. I’ve found that I must genuinely love something to feel compelled to add it to my collection. This extends to everything in life.

I see so many people spending a lot on brand-name products that don’t need the label to be valuable. I’ve had my time with Stanley Cups, but recently switched to a Walmart brand that works better for me. I’ve experienced lovely yarns here and there, but I prefer buying in bulk for those special projects rather than splurging on individual skeins.

I’ve got some ideas for improving my apartment and decorating my walls, but I know that takes time and energy, both of which can be scarce. As for my patch collection, I’ve hit a bit of a slow patch (no pun intended). I’m hesitant to spend money I don’t have right now. Collecting patches, like yarn, can become expensive quickly, and pursuing a specific patch can feel burdensome, especially with the uncertainty of shipping and the frustrations that come with it.

I honestly can’t recall how much I invested in my collection or when I started it. With the travel mug collection, I’ve realized there are only so many I can realistically use. That’s why I’ve chosen to donate several—because I want to simplify my space. I usually find myself using just one mug or travel mug each week. It feels good to step back and consider what truly matters to me.
