Hello everyone,
I would like to share a recent experience that has been quite unsettling for me, as I often find it helpful to express my thoughts and emotions through writing. Early Wednesday morning, I received a message from my neighbor inquiring about an incident involving the unauthorized killing of deer in my yard. My immediate reaction was one of disbelief, as I had not given any such permission.
I quickly went outside, bringing my uncle with me, and I felt a mix of confusion and frustration. This situation reminded me of a previous incident involving a car accident at the nearby swim club, which also left me feeling bewildered. After some back-and-forth communication with my neighbor, I decided to contact local authorities, knowing that hunting is not permitted on our property and is illegal in residential areas.
During my conversation with the police, I expressed my concerns, particularly since my family has a longstanding tradition of feeding local wildlife. The hunters involved claimed they had received permission from the swim club, and they presented documentation to support their assertion. However, if that were true, I believe the swim club would have taken the responsibility to inform the residents.
A police report was filed, and my neighbor and I continued our investigation as we felt it was important to understand the situation more fully. We reached out to the swim club, the Mothers Club, and the Game Commission, as well as local township supervisors.
Now, we are left with an important question: how will our community and the township respond to this matter, especially given that two deer were taken under questionable circumstances? The swim club has stated they did not hire anyone for this action, and we hope to find clarity soon. Thank you for allowing me to share this experience.
