Hello everyone! I’m here to share some insights about my video watching habits. I often find myself stepping away from TikTok videos and live streams when my attention wanes or when misophonia kicks in. This isn’t a reflection on the creators; it’s a personal struggle regarding what holds my focus and for how long. I simply can’t watch the same content repeatedly, and I struggle with situations where I’m a passive viewer rather than actively engaged.
When it comes to YouTube, I’m drawn in by compelling storylines that keep my mind engaged while I knit or write. Lately, I’ve been focusing heavily on knitting and writing, often composing and scheduling my blogs in advance so I can dedicate my day to other activities. I’m eager to start a new project making coasters for my friend and his roommate. While I’m not thrilled about the Dallas Cowboys colors they chose, that’s their preference, and I’ll make it work.
I’m also venturing into a new type of yarn—the MVP series from Herrschners. I’m looking forward to seeing how it performs. If I like it, I’ll definitely make room on my yarn wall for it. Plus, I’m eyeing some new colors in the Premier Yarns BASIX line that are lined up in my shopping cart, ready for my next stash expansion.
Currently, I prefer tackling smaller projects like mug rugs and drink coasters over larger ones like scarves. They allow me to create quickly without a lot of mental effort. Additionally, I want to touch on the true crime content I consume on YouTube. I’ve grown up watching cop shows, and while I don’t thrive on it, I’ve become somewhat desensitized to the harsh realities of the world we live in. I remain unaffected unless it strikes close to home. Even if there’s no personal connection, I empathize with those involved and their families, especially in situations that resonate with my own experiences.
