Hello and welcome to my blog! Right now, I’m watching YouTube and knitting, working on two exciting projects. I’m thoroughly impressed with the vintage yarn from Red Heart Yarns, specifically the Dayglow colorway. This yarn’s vintage quality allows me to work with it effortlessly, which is a significant relief since I often struggle with the texture and quality of various yarns. However, this particular skein is exceptional, manufactured in February 2024. Moving forward, I will be listing the dyelot and “born on” date for my yarn whenever I discuss my crafting.

I’ve also learned that TikTok will be phased out in March 2026, with a new app slated for launch in the United States come September. I’m unsure what my future holds for live streaming, but I’m being cautious with the content I consume on TikTok because I’m not feeling valued or appreciated by different broadcasters.

I am determined to stay connected with my crafting community, and I’m grateful that we have Instagram and Discord for communication. However, I’m uncertain where everyone will migrate for live broadcasting beyond Twitch, given the challenges that come with establishing a YouTube channel. The hurdles of accumulating enough followers and watch time to go live don’t make it appealing unless one is pursuing this as a business. I have an established audience on Instagram and valuable connections on Discord, not to mention my trusty YouTube and website.

Additionally, I want to clarify that I do not sell my work; instead, I focus on donations and gifting. I need to send out items this autumn and increase my donations. I know certain yarns in my stash are being discontinued, and I plan to liquidate those and seek alternatives. At this point in my life, I prefer going out only with purpose. This preference stems from environmental concerns; I dislike going out when I can’t control my environment. Also, when it comes to purchasing yarn, I refuse to buy anything without knowing its texture unless it’s from a reliable source.
