Housework certainly comes before knitting in the dictionary, and in this house, it often takes priority as well. I make it a point to complete my housework early in the day, no matter the day of the week. I’ve established a routine where I tackle the dishes before brewing my coffee—something I rarely did before. While I’m doing the dishes, I also prepare Lulu’s breakfast, ensuring that I’m organized and ready for the day.
My knitting time typically stretches from early morning until around 4:30 PM, or whenever I feel it’s time to wind down. I prefer to hit the sack early, even if I am writing this at almost 7 PM on Easter evening. Tomorrow, the plan is straightforward: get the dishes done, enjoy our coffee, and dive back into the 100-stitch project I’ve created. What started at 62 stitches has grown, and it’s solidly at 100 stitches since I have plenty of yarn to work with in this delightful mismatched creation.
I also have plans for another Taylor Swift-inspired project just for me. While I’m not entirely sure what it will be yet, I have leftover yarn from the project I made for Lulu Rose, so I’m excited to craft something special for myself—though it might end up being used by her. My confidence in crafting hasn’t always been strong, and I often feel I’m not making things perfect enough for myself. I’ve been knitting for over 20 years, but I still consider myself a beginner since I stick to Garter stitch, whether using the continental or English style. Despite others complimenting my knitting, I tend to be my own harshest critic.
I look forward to creating another post like this soon. These spontaneous updates are inspired by the things I enjoy on Pinterest. I have a few more saved clips I want to explore, but I need to carve out some time to write my thoughts before diving into the website apps.
