December 26 #ThingsOnMyMind

Welcome! Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that some of the local wildlife hasn’t been seen as often as usual. This made me think about recent decisions made by Montgomery County and other parts of Pennsylvania regarding deer management. It seems there are plans to reduce deer populations that are considered too high, even though their presence is largely a result of urban expansion into their natural habitats. As new developments and construction projects fueled by real estate and business interests continue, natural habitats are shrinking, and wildlife is moving into residential areas.

This situation reminds me of the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, where many people faced health struggles due to the virus and the measures taken to contain it. It’s concerning to think that both wildlife and humans are sometimes affected unnecessarily just because they’re simply trying to live their lives. It really makes me think about the importance of coexistence and mutual respect.

I also have concerns about neighborhood safety and the social environment right across from my home. Even though it’s said that my community is among the quietest in the township, I know that law enforcement has conducted major narcotics raids in nearby areas. I genuinely wish those activities happened more often to make our neighborhood safer.

It’s frustrating when official messages sometimes give a skewed picture of neighborhood safety. Crime can happen anywhere, and staying alert is important. I am hopeful that next year, police will increase patrols and community engagement to tackle issues like drug activity and loitering.

On a personal note, I’ve started limiting my social media interactions to close family and friends to protect my emotional well-being and keep my relationships positive. I also received two yarn orders today, and I believe I have enough stock to last through 2026 unless specific needs come up. My plan is to clear out some lower-quality materials to make room for higher-quality products on my shelves.

I’ll keep sharing my thoughts and opinions online without worrying about others’ approval because I believe everyone has the right to their own opinion. Looking ahead to the 2026 sports season, I plan to follow football and NASCAR more closely, especially after recent tragic events involving Greg Biffle. My enthusiasm for NASCAR has cooled down since many of my favorite drivers retired, but I still enjoy watching when there’s meaningful content.

Lastly, I don’t think this will be my last commentary of the season. There are still many questions, like whether Travis Kelce will retire and how public figures will handle intrusive paparazzi. For example, families like the Kardashians should recognize that their expectations of privacy in public aren’t always realistic. I look forward to exploring these topics more in future discussions.
